Game setup involves selecting one player as the 'Eligible bachelor/bachelorette' at the start of each round, with the remaining players acting as 'Matchmakers.' Based on these preferences (gender attraction), Matchmakers receive character cards depicting prominent Bollywood figures, complete with profile images, names, and a set of positive ('green flags') and negative ('red flags') traits.

Each Matchmaker's task is to convince the bachelor/bachelorette within a two-minute window that their assigned character is an ideal match by emphasizing green flags and minimizing red flags. Players alternate in pitching their characters’ profiles visually and verbally. Following these presentations, the bachelor/bachelorette shortlists some Matchmakers for a rebuttal phase, where contestants attempt to undermine competing characters by highlighting their red flags.

Post-rebuttal, the bachelor/bachelorette makes a final decision: either to 'Hatao' (reject) or 'Patao' (accept) the presented character. The Matchmaker whose character is accepted scores a point, concluding that round. The game proceeds with a new round featuring fresh participants and settings until a player reaches a pre-determined winning score—commonly suggested as three points—which concludes the game and designates the winner as the top matchmaker.
